Nice! I haven’t listened to much from the last few years.

What other band gives away 3 hours of prime live music every year?

I will be in Vegas all four nights. @wavethatflag will not be in attendance to drop full beers on unsuspecting concert attendees.

    Onwards with 2009

Drove from Atlanta to Baton Rouge today.

    Played 6 2 09 Wantagh

A MUCH better show imo than 5 31

5 31 had a fantastical setlist but it was just totally lacking the X factor spark which left it, overall, a dare I say boring (!!!) show.

    I know right?

6 2 was 50 times more enjoyable. And for a show with a large number of my non-favorite songs, it sure rocked my socks.

Yea it wasn't the gig of the cemtury or anything but the guys sounded 20 times more engaged and alive than at Fenway.

Mike-Simple-Wolfman-Weekapaug and also Timber and Cities were the definite highlights imo.

Also the by-request debut of Kill Devil Falls was OUTSTANDING!!!

Farmhouse was noteworthy for some fantastic Trey soloing as well.

    Good gig!!! :)

In Laredo TX currently. This show broke up the dreary monotony that is this rainy TX morning.

Ghost was great, Meatstick>Drowned was unexpected but excellent.

Cool that you can basically consider an actual "LIVE ALBUM" because its all culled from the Mexico shows.

The random LB's are fine but once in a while a themed/curated collection is a nice change. :)

How were these shows generally received? Weak? Strong? Meh?

In general, "meh" is a good descriptor. They suffer from being standalone shows, not part of a tour, so the band isn't as warmed up as they could've been.
This is referring to the music only of course. The setting looks pretty great.
On the other hand, you certainly seem very excited about a lot of shows not widely beloved, so maybe these will be the same for you.

I went to the first one, ex got the second one in the divorce - but I digress ha

I think meh is fair. It was an insanely fun trip, the setting was phenomenal and I’m so glad that I went. But musically the NYE run I saw a couple of weeks earlier was superior as were the summer tour shows I saw in 2016. There were moments for sure and even meh 3.0 Phish is pretty good. They very very rarely absolutely stink up the place. It might not be transcendatl but it’s going to be well played.

Thank you for the write up :)

Yea, with any artist, I always seem to jump into the "wilderness years" first and the later on come around to the "classic" stuff.

I think its because I love the histories of the artists I get into, so im trying to get a full picture instead of some glorified thing in my head.

    Or something like that.

Im the guy that marathoned all of the Dead years 1990 and 1991 and loved every second - lets put it like that :p

Ive only been into Phish for 6 months though, so who knows what Ill be listening to shortly. Im a tadpole at this point. Im still trying to remember how Harry Hood and Fluffhead go. :)

Between all the Maya Riviera shows they’ve done thus far, my personal favorite is Night 3 of 2017...it was super windy out and Trey had his eyes closed most of the show during any jam with his hair blowing wild. Looked like he was possessed...musically above any others at least to my ears.

Set was sleep inducingly boring aside from a rippibg KDF and a hot Reggae Woman

WORST MELT IVE HEARD YET. An atonal mess, and not the good kind.

Set 2 is a million times better. Lame 2001 but but the rest is excellent.

Now im up to Fluffhead on 6 6 09 Mansfield

FANTASTIC show so far!!! Best of the summer so far by a long shot. This show has that missing ingredient and feels like old Phish to me.

    Highly recommended!!!

    WOW!!!

3.0 has started to hit its stride a bit methinks.

This show is as good or better than the killer 6 6 09

SAND IS THE BEST JAM OF 3.0 SO FAR!!!

Wolfmans Brother also is loaded with phenomenal jamming

Top tier ultra space Guyuute as well.

Gotta hear this show guys - this Sand has to be heard to be believed
