I feel that way about Gilmours Pompeii set.

  2. Everytime a beautiful vinyl box set comes out, these comments pop up. Price reflects the design, manufacturing, licensing and wholesale and retail profit.

And Yes you have your cheap CD option.

Now that I think of it, is there any chance they'd put this on Blu-ray after the vinyl sells out? Or is video quality always going to trump audio quality when it comes to making this decision?

But will it have any new Enigma clues, or was the DVD the last gasp?

    I quote myself

Pulse Blu Ray + 3 CD. Newly edited and mixed in stereo and 5.1, incl ALL the songs performed at Earls Court. 'Soundscape' included as well

I know that they need to make money for distribution, manufacturing the box etc.
But c'mon! 100 euro for mostly plastic and paper. As if 60-80 euros would not have be enough for ONE concert with 4 discs of vinyl + the book. That is my point.
Normally things become cheaper the older the content becomes.

But why are people like you justifying a price like this as if you work for them?
    That is seriously annoying.

Pulse was recorded on digital video only - I believe it would be a massive upscaling job to put it on BluRay at 1080P.

  9. I justify it because I represent commercial artists for a living and understand the actual costs that go into these things :

    Design and art direction
    Printing
    Photo licensing
    Copywriting
    Shipping
    Marketing advertising promotion

    Music publishing
    Artist cut
    Label
    Cut
    Retailer cut
    Mastering and cutting
    Pressing plant and other manufacturing

Fantastic news! I've been waiting for this. I held off on Delicate Sound as I have a nice original pressing of that one. This and the Zeppelin How The West Was Won are in the purchase queue. I might hold off on ordering until it drops slightly and we get a few vinyl sound quality reviews. I read somewhere the original pressing does not sound great but no idea if that's true or not.

Nice, Relics reissue, I might get that one as well for the hell of it. I have the original in the paper thin sleeve and love that album, great flow to it. Stop bleeding my damn wallet!!!

Was the original release all analog or was it cut from a digital master?

Finally getting a chance to sit back with the DVD. Now, I'm getting psyched as I really want to hear the vinyl. Decided to ebay some things and I'm already at over 80 bucks in my paypal. I'm going to really be looking forward to this! Good deal on a Spin Clean anyone? (Just got meself a Record Doctor!) :goodie:

i did on amazon.com. Somethin new : they charge import duties ... sort of provision ... i hate that ... but 6$ shipping plus 21$ import is not unsane for such a big package.
i wont have better anywhere and if i order it in europe, it will be more expensive. and it'z a preorder which means i'll get the best amazon price till 18/05

Wouldn't it be cheaper in your case to buy from Amazon France? (http://amzn.eu/2ZsA7Bx). Or even Amazon UK...
