Yep, that is correct. No "RL" on the original vinyl, but yes, Doug did the mastering.

My vinyl should be with me today, I've got the original columbia pressing which has never sounded that great so I look forward to checking this out, any word if it is analogue, I was assuming that this would go down the same route as the recent vinyl reissues that were done not being analogue but seem to remember someone saying something about this being analogue, anyone know?

I would be interested to hear how you feel this rates compared to the original pressing. I also used to have a (black) vinyl original, but sold it because I never felt it sounded great - in fact (unusually for me) I reckoned the cd was probably better.
Oh, and yes, this new one looks to be all analogue.

I was very pleased that my audio DVD of The Division Bell was waiting for me when I arrived home from work. Details are:

PCM stereo mix (48khz) mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante & Doug Sax
5.1 audio mix, previously unreleased Mixed and mastered by Andy Jackson and David Iddins. Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1

plus Marooned 2014 film directed by Aubrey Powell

The disc comes in a card sleeve with a completely unrelated cover design to any previous release. It is a photo of the milky way with a yellow 2 seat racing scull photographed from underneath. (sorry I'm not on any photosharing site to post a picture)

  14. So will this be in stores today?

I have enough in store credits at Amoeba to get the box set, but I want to hear from people if this is a good remastering before buying. I didn't like any of the last three remastering's on vinyl, though I'd say the Wish You Were Here that Doug Sax remastered was the best of that bunch.

I have no doubt that the dynamics will be there, this is Floyd after all. I just worry about everything else. My hypothesis is that having Roger Waters out of the loop on this will yield a superior result. Fingers crossed.

Let us know as soon as you spin it.

Spinning the vinyl as I type.

The SQ is amazing; as good as just about anything I've heard. To my ears, not a hint of digital hash. I *love* the album, and I'm hearing things I've not heard before

Utterly silent vinyl, too. Floyd quality at its best. I've bought the deluxe boxset as well as the double album vinyl.

    Happy camper.

Is there any difference in the Boxset vinyl vs. The double album vinyl?

Don't know yet - I don't think there is; both 2 x 12". No indication on fansites / PF.com that they differ, as far a I can see. Haven't yet listened to the double album vinyl TBH; might keep it sealed...

Not that I can hear, Brian.

But I can hear *more* - no pun intended!

Listening to Take It Back; about 60% of the way through is a guitar / instrumental break - I swear I heard, for the first time, what sounds like a child's voice deeeeep in the mix...

The LP was mastered in analog, so there should be no "digital hash", if that is a concern.
