I perhaps read about Korner in Keef's book? Don't know much about him, though.

True. It was good for everyone - though best for the white guys, I suspect.

Whatever. Too many tragic stories about Pat Boone getting a hit with Little Richard's music, etc. It's a sad part of our history. I am thrilled that we have the music, though.

Very likely. I use to have an Alexis Korner album that had, among many others. Brian Jones playing on it.

Great album for sure, but personally I would put it ahead of his Cobra recordings or his output on Chicago! The Blues! Today! Led Zeppelin got exposed to "I Can't Quit You Baby" via the latter of course.

Another classic from "My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama". The "dirty" solo starts at 2:28:

  8. Rory Gallagher didn't always play the blues, but when he did, whew!

Pee Wee Crayton was a T-Bone Walker disciple, but a bit "greasier" in his playing:

Mississippi Fred McDowell - You Gotta Move.

The Rolling Stones covered this on Sticky Fingers. McDowell responded by releasing an album called "I Don't Play No Rock 'N' Roll." :uhhuh:

I don't think Robert Cray has been mentioned yet. Now, that's a blues guitarist whose style fits his music to a T.
