Pole between me and system?

    Well, that sounds scary and way too expensive. I think I will have to find a way to put up with the damn pole. What Waxfreak said,

    Attach a large computer screen to the pole and surf the internet while you listen. It won't affect the sound.

    Why not install a false ceiling boxing in the pole,and at the same time soundproof the cavity?

    I know someone who had the same issue and had a bid to install a new beam with the pole on each side. $20,000. He didn't do it.
    I have the same issue. My room is 14 wide by 22 which is good enough.
