From that list, these are the five bands who generally receive the most air play from me (listed in the order they appear above):

1. The Rolling Stones - I enjoy the Beatles, but am more likely to put on the Stones at any given time
2. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - I never get tired of Jimi, whether with the Experience, the Band of Gypsys, etc.
3. Led Zeppelin - hard rock, prog rock, folk rock, and more; even a bit of heavy metal perhaps (but don't tell them that!)
4. AC/DC - I agree with earlier posts that sometimes nothing else will quite do; I like Brian Johnson, but prefer the Bon Scott material
5. The Velvet Underground - a bit of an acquired taste to this day as some posts here apparently demonstrate

Good grief, Pink Floyd ahead of Jimi, the Dead, AC/DC, Sabbath, the Beach Boys, and U2? Their two minutes of good music makes them better than Tull, but that's about it.

 

REM has more votes than crosby, stills, nash & young.......the horrors.......the horrors.
