    I voted for Marvin's Grapevine.

While I agree the 60s were the golden era for Motown as far as singles go, I think the late 60s to mid 70s was the label's best period musically, with classic soul albums from the Temps, Stevie and Marvin, like What's Going On, Innervisions and All Directions. To me, thats the real Motown now, great though the pop singles were.

The reason why I left out "What's Goin On" is because I knew it was going to dominate the competition.
Look at the leading single. Another Marvin Gaye hit. Gotta love it!

Yes, "It's a Shame" is one of he greatest singles of all time. You know it from the first notes of that shimmering guitar intro. I voted for "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" from the available choices.

Actually the 45 rpm of It's All in the Game by the Four Tops just happened to be in a stack of singles we had in the house when I was about 5 years old. I played it a lot, loved the label design and thought it was heavy hippie music. The flip side Love (is the Answer) really rocks.

It wouldn't be fair at all. It would've won by a landslide.
