"Rag Mama Rag" has been eliminated.

Four tracks remain. One must go.

    Discussion Question:
Have you ever seen The Band (or any of its members) in concert before? If so, what did you think? Also, feel free to discuss any live Band material you are familiar with. (Dylan material featuring The Band counts for purposes of this discussion?)

    T 10 11 Jemima Surrender (Round 1)

Dixie again. Good song but I'm a bit bored with it.

Never seen any of the Band in concert but I have seen Tom Pacheco, who co-wrote some stuff on Jubilation, live many times. Close as it gets for me, I'm afraid.

    Cripple Creek to go.

DQ - never saw them or any of the Band members.

I did see The Last Waltz in the cinema when it was released...and the audience applauded at the end - the only time I've seen that where the director or star hasn't been there.

Never saw The Band or any Members live. I know Rock Of Ages and The Last Waltz, both are more than solid live albums in my book.

I saw The Band at The Spectrum in Philadelphia back in 1976 a little before they played The Last Waltz show. I remember being most impressed with Robbie Robertson’s lead guitar playing. Also saw them with Bob Dylan at The Spectrum in 1974.

DQ: Never seen the band or any of its members in concert, unfortunately.

I'm glad to see "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is still here. Probably my favorite track on the album!

I saw the original lineup six times between October '69 & July '76, including January '74 with Mr. Zimmerman.

Caught the reformed group once in March of '87. Unfortunately, they were not at the top of their game. Rick had apparently been having way too much fun, Levon seemed generally unhappy, and the result was an atypical sloppy performance.

Individually, I've seen Rick twice, Levon twice, and Garth once. Great shows, all.

Not holding my breath for a live Robbie show...

Considering that Richard’s death would have still been fresh in their minds, I’m not all that surprised that they wouldn’t be all there.

They were still reeling for sure. After 31 years, I can't recall if there was a piano player at that show, and/or who it was. Blondie Chaplin was there though, helping out on guitar & vocals.

  19. DQ?: I saw them 3 times after Robbie left, but just as they'd reformed with Richard Manuel alive at that point. I saw them twice after that.
They were truly incredible every time I saw them those first 3 times (with Jim Weider on guitar, it sounded & felt like The Band completely!!)... and they were still great those 2 times after Richard had passed as well...

"Rock Of Ages" is one of my all-time favorite live albums & "The Last Waltz" isn't far behind that. I adore "Before The Flood" as well...

I've never seen them live before.

I really like the "Rock Of Ages" concert, as well as their instrumental backing on Bob Dylan's "Royal Albert Hall" concert.
