Even more incredible, huge NY Who fan, Binky Phillips, says Tanglewood was their worst performance of that summer '70 tour - it was the last night of the tour and Binky says they were worn out.

Royal Albert Hall 2000 should be in the poll.

It is the performance all other Who performances are measured against.

Of course I assumed the op was talking about released film/video only. Talking which is The Who's best ever performance is a whole different ballgame.

Since there is some footage of Leeds and Tanglewood knocking around I'm keeping faith with these, even though they are incomplete and unofficial.

Madison Square Garden, 2001... Just amazing, they left the audience stunned, nobody could possibly follow that. Zak was awesome too. It's also got a typically hilarious Who moment when Roger misses his cue during Behind Blue Eyes and Pete purposefully bumps into him... HARD!

As good as that performance was, I thought the one for the 12/12/12 Sandy concert was even better - including Bell Boy that night was a masterstroke!

I believe it, their energy level during that time was simply unsurpassed. They left it all out there....no wonder they rarely did encores. :faint:

Tanglewood for me, although I've not seen the London Coliseum 1969 film.

I also read that the Landover (or Largo) August 3 and 4, 1976 gigs were filmed but I have never seen any film from either of these concerts anywhere. I have a few rare photos from the first show where cameramen can be seen at both ends of the stage. So where is the darned films? HHMMMM And Mike, could you post a few more of your great shots from the Largo gigs please? Love the three you posted a few days ago.
