Stefano G. Ab alto, speres alteri quod feceris.

Their first self titled album is an authentic masterpiece; but Telegraph Road is their best song.

Love Over Gold for me. I love to listen to that album late at night ... Or when it's raining ... Or when I accidentally have too much to drink ... Or ......

KinkySmallFace1991 Will you come back to me, Sweet Lady Genevieve?

Making Movies is a classic, so I voted for that.

Live At The BBC is the only one I own and like. I prefer the rawness of it.

Making Movies is almost a perfect album but I cannot tolerate "Les Boys". Fortunately it was put at the end so it's easy to skip and not ruin the flow of the album.

It has to be their debut for me, I saw them live just as Communique was released. One of the best gigs I have seen.

Later on in their career it turned into a show, just not quite the same as a gig!

S/T for me, by a whisker from Communique. I tend to think of the pair as a fantastic double album.

Only two I own are Making Movies and Love Over Gold. Both great albums, but Making Movies is my favorite

S/T for sure. But surprisingly to probably everyone else in this thread the much-dissed On Every Street is easily my #2.

I started with Alchemy Live when I was a senior in high school. I played the vinyl countless times. After hanging around here I got rid of my re-masters and acquired the Targets of the first four plus Alchemy. They all get many turns. My finger clicked Making Movies, but iTunes says Love Over Gold is the winner.

And what beautiful recordings, each an every one.

I went with Love Over Gold - every song a winner. I'm also a big fan of On Every Street, which sounds fantastic on the recent 2-disc vinyl reissue. Great mastering, though I wish the pressing quality was a little better. If only Brothers In Arms had not been played to death in '85-86 (of which I, too, am guilty) it would have made the top 3. The MFSL 45 RPM of that is mindblowing.

Making Movies, because no other album of theirs has "Tunnel of Love", "Expresso Love" or "Solid Rock".

    Runner up would be S/T.

They are all five-star albums for me. Voted Brothers In Arms on the strength of the title track. On Every Street is very underrated. I played the heck out of it when it came out, and it still holds up well. I was glad that Mark worked the title track into the set list when I saw him last year.

Couldn't bear to vote...(I know, what a weasel). Purchased s/t in 1980 at 14 and they've been among my favorites ever since. Really liked OES on ceedee when it came out, but dig it even more with the recent vinyl reissue (person demo mat'l there)

The debut - I've got the WG Vertigo blue fan CD. I also have an original UK LP pressing.

#2 is Making Movies, followed by Brothers In Arms.

  23. Making Movies, by far. Side 1 of that album remains one of my favourite LP sides ever made.

They totally lost me after 1980. Brothers in Arms makes me sick these days and On Every Street is one of the most boring records ever (that is until Knopfler solo albums came along).

I prefer the first 2 albums over anything else........voted Communique since it has a lot less votes.
