Big Country - Inwards (starts at 3:40)

Wonderfully lyrical, with clear echoes of Verlaine and Garcia, but very much Stuart Adamson, all the same.

Slaughter & the Dogs - Dame To Blame (solo begins at 1:47)

A teenage Mick Rossi, no doubt encouraged to new highs by the producer, Mick Ronson. The sound of the Yardbirds wearing Doc Martens...

Never heard these guys before. Thanks!

Punk with Glam. More Johnny Thunders than X-Ray Spex. I like the sound.

That reminded me a lot of Eliot Easton of the Cars, the pentatonic licks with the occasional nods to the harmony of the song and the sliding sixths (actually may have been thirds...will have to listen again). Nice stuff!

He has recorded tons of awesome, memorable solos; ripping or not.

  10. This for the jazz fans (early 60s Coltrane style). A bit long, but Sonny Greenwich is the first soloist and he shreds so it's worth the listen! And the other guys are no lazybones either...

EDIT: Sorry for the wrong clip initially posted, folks! (Identical picture on Youtube...) This is the right one now...

I would also include Andalusia and Asik Vaysel as well. I don't know how he does it, but he always takes me to that special place.

Great example of double picking. Sounds like it's getting out of his control and Ginn pulls it back on track. (Starts at 1:03)
Who said punk doesn't have solos?

Zeke Turner at 0:57. Just because it's so weird to play a solo like that on a song like this.
