    I made it. I had the two legs that attach to the wall fabricated to my specs and built the shelves myself. Solid Red Oak.

    Agree completely. A few years ago my wife bought me a very nice, and comfy, leather recliner for my listening room. Yes it was comfortable but the back was up at ear level which always bugged me. About a year later, during our neighborhood's annual yard sale event, I bought two funky looking chairs for $10 and set them in my listening room. She wasn't real happy about it until I moved the good chair into the bedroom where we watch tv together.
    As for the results, immediately noticed all those audiophile improvements that take too much space to describe. Not much too look at, but I just finished two hours of listening and never felt uncomfortable.

    FYI, the Eames lounge & ottoman combo only comes up to your shoulders. It's deceiving in pictures without someone in the chair.

    The Ekornes on the other hand, at least my model the Orion, is too high to be used for critical listening. It's an actual head rest that, even in the lowest setting, is around ear level.

    Many thanks Sacsongs - I get a lot of pleasure from using the space. It's also a very quiet first floor spot, with a view of grazing sheep opposite...

    Thanks Jon.

    The Harbeths are about perfect. I never plan on buying another speaker.

    The soundbar is the Polk 9000. (My friend hooked my up - he works at a company that gets some reciprocal deals so I got it really cheap.) Comes with a wireless subwoofer. It's a pretty nice simple solution, 7 speakers in one bar. Not as great as a true surround system, but it's sounds good and keeps things clean. My only complaint is the remote control is awful - it's really hard to adjust the volume...you have to get it lined up JUST RIGHT to get it to work. Pain in the ass.

    Thank you, good sir! It's usually a little less busy looking (WAF) but spur of the moment photo and all that...!

    MacGyver - nice job on the new room! Might I suggest a Harmony universal remote? Would make life much easier! Or better yet......given your name......maybe you could fashion one out of some batteries, LEDs, paper clips, silicone gel, and baby wipes! :D

    hah!! nah, i'm not quite that clever.

    nah, i do not like modern universal remotes at all, actually. in fact, i actually PREFER the bulk, feel and operation of 1980's remotes.
    believe me, if i wanted 21st century ergonomic convenience in my A/V system, i certainly wouldn't have the gear that i own, or at least, i would have long since burned through a half-dozen or more HARMONY's by now.

    now, don't get me wrong, i'm no programmable/universal remote control hater either. quite the contrary, in fact;

    Nice room. Love the whole look. Beautiful turntable. It looks a lot more expensive than it is around $3200 US?

    Ooo la la Focal! I almost bought a pair of 1038BEs, but the woofers weren't big enough for me. :D
