I've got the same rack, but with just 3 shelves. If I knew the 5 shelf version came with a cat, I would've gone that route for sure! :wiggle:

Wow !!....great cables....they use ohno crystal copper....purest and best copper one can buy. IF you got the same pair going from the phono amp to the preamp, you'd have more of what you like about them.

You found the key! Our cat's hate balloons also. We have a very large pot in our bedroom that the cats tried to dig in when the opportunity presented itself. I few balloons around the outer edge and they won't go near it.

I am using Tara Labs Quantum CX from the phono stage to he Pre. Do you think the Acoustic Zen would be better?

That soapstone cat does a good job supporting that JPS cord. It's really heavy. Surprisingly so. It bites onto the Supra power strip pretty tight but at that angle, over time, .....gravity never quits ya know.

I find it best to run same cable, whatever it is, from TT into Phono amp, and out from Phono amp into preamp/integrated amp.

I run my Wireworld Silver Eclipse 7 phono cable into the Musical Surroundings Phonomena II+ and Wireworld Siver Eclipse 7 interconnects out from the Musical Surroundings Phonomena II+ into preamp. This way....same cable gives that same sound all the way into the preamp. I love the tone of the Silver Eclipse 7. They are also Ohno Crystal silver over Ohno Cyrstal Copper. Excellent tone and speed.

I was going to post this picture in the thread someone started on audio furniture but I didn't find it so I am posting here. That wood shelf doesn't look like much but it is very heavy, I'd say close to 75 or 80 lbs. It was my Chinese friend's who used it with his equipment display at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest a few years ago and I've had it since then when he had a lot of the stuff shipped to my home for storage. It has some nicks and scratches from shipment but it serves its purpose well. I wish I knew what type of wood it is. Seems very dense.

I don't listen to this amp much (6V6) but I got it out yesterday to stretch its legs. The tubes look pretty tonight :)

    Great! Thanks for the input!

I put in a "saved search" in eBay for another pair. I LOVE used cables!

I have made some changes to the living room and stereo. Tripod is added and the stereo moved to a separate side of the room.

Brought the Dual 721 back into service until I can get bearing oil for the Pro-Ject. I keep forgetting the convenience of auto cue and auto return! :goodie:

Just got the Rega bracket mounted to the wall. Pretty sure it's all in my head, but I think it sounds better. And now I can jump up and down in front of it and it doesn't skip.

My cat helpfully confirmed for me this morning that the Rega bracket can hold the weight of a cat in addition to the turntable. In case anyone was wondering....

I love cats, but Kitty and I would have to have a short conversation about turntables, expensive moving coil cartridges, tonearm bearings and euthanasia.

I don't have cats but plenty of my friends do and what I've learnt is this:

What cat hears and understands: Don't touch that
What cat does: Ignores you and touches that

I love cats, but so far I have not succumbed to any of my friends attempts to convince me to get a cat.

    :)
