You're asking five gay guys where the BEAVER is? Are you sure you have the right show, Michael?

Seriously, though this show is a lot of fun. I like it because I believe tolerance for every lifestyle is the way to go, and this show reinforces that.

"Tolerance" means you deign to recognize someone's right to exist and be free of harrassment. It doesn't necessarily mean celebrating or affirming their identity, lifestyle, beliefs, etc.

Most people in our society are tolerant of homosexuals, in the sense that they aren't, for the most part, running around in mobs trying to kill gays, beat up on them, put them in jail, etc. The majority seems to regard homosexuality, rightly or wrongly, as a private lifestyle or behavioral choice to which individuals are entitled provided they don't look for public, legal affirmation of their choices. This may not be a particularly progressive stance, but it is a "tolerant" one in the strictest sense of the term.

Ummm, I know the meaning of tolerance Mike, and Mike, I was not referring to "Homosexuals" in my use of the word Tolerance...Throughout my life, I've had many "Gay" friends and still do as does my wife...

When did the meaning of the word "tolerate" change from 'putting up with something unpleasant.' Just wondering.

For example, one wouldn't have to 'tolerate' the pleasure of spending a million dollars the way one would have to 'tolerate' the feeling of wet socks after stepping in a puddle if they had no alternative to walking.

Please don't misunderstand, I wasn't trying to patronize you or anything. I was simply prompted by your comment about how the word is often misused to give my own interpretation of how it might more accurately be used to describe societal attitudes toward gay people. As you said, though, language can be an awfully subjective thing; I apologize if I came across as supercilious.

Tonight's show (with Andrew, the guy who is part of the crew) was pretty hilarious. If there is a more fun, lighthearted hour on TV right now, I want to know about it.

These straight guys living in these dumps, all the porn around, etc. provide for a lot of funny lines....

Hey, I didn't mean to open a hornet's nest. Burlington, Vermont(where I live) is a very gay-friendly town. What I meant was, simply, "Live and Let Live". One's sexual orientation is a small part of what one is as a human being. I personally don't care if a person is gay, straight, or screws trees.
