Question about Classic Records DAD

Sense they are having a sale thought I might inquire about the following titles. If any of you have them and can offer your opinion on the sound quality vs the available cd versions. Thanks as usual.

A friend of mine has bought 6 to 8 of the DAD titles. I think they sound AWESOME!!! The Muddy Waters "Folk Singer" disc blows away the recent SACD version too.

I just bought several titles myself. I hope they didn't run out!

 

I have the Hooker's, Coltrane and Adderly, and I also agree with Dan the Muddy Waters is exceptional. I would also like to recommend the Glory soundtrack. However the they will only sound as good as the D2A converter than they are being processed through. My DVD player feeds an outboard DAC that can process the 24/96 stream.

what do you need to play dad ? I have the sony sacd / dvd 500 player will that play these discs.

 

Yes.

 

Basically every DVD player will use the DAD without fail. Check to see if your DVD unit can actually use a 24/96 stream without downsampling. Make sure you use your analog outs.

Most DVD players will use the advantages of DAD/ClassRecs. Check yer manual.

 

Damn! I've got to get a better DVD player. What with this sale and the 10 DVD-A's or so I've accumilated lately I regret missing out on the 24/96.
