    R.I.P. Allen.

I never knew much about him personally, but I was always fascinated that he had a fairly long relationship with Patti Smith. Which tells me he was a cool guy.

Sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Allen! Thanks for being a part of the sound track of my youth. BOC has always been a favorite of mine. Jam on Allen, jam on!

@apple-richard, nice find. I haven't seen that release before. Can you shed some light on it and how it sounds? Thanks

This one hurts. I saw BOC in 1981 in Darmstadt, in San Antonio in 1983, and 3-4 times here in Corpus Christi since then. The first ones were big shows with big audiences. The later ones were in clubs, but just much of a blast. And all except the last 2 shows with Allen. I've grown up with BOC - they were the soundtrack to many high school get-togethers and beer drinking. They were also the only music my now-wife and I listened to during a long drive just before I proposed to her. And that was her music choice!

He was definitely the spirit of the band, and it's different, and a bit less, without him.

I bought a road case for a memorymoog from him about 13 years ago. He gave me the impression of a very kind down to earth sort of guy. R.I.P Allen.
I saw B.O.C first on the FOUO tour and many times after. He will be missed.

    Fu#k!

Too soon... Allen will be missed by many.

He was very underrated and somewhat overshadowed in a band full of extremely talented musicians.

I also grew up with "the amazing BOC". Major Bummer again. R.I.P, I first saw them on the Spectres tour in the 70's and that laser fiasco is permanently etched in my mind. Increadible stuff. Will be breaking out the ole BOC box tonight for sure.

Oh no...I was a huge BOC fan in the mid to late 70's as well as being into Patti Smith when I first heard her, when "Horses" came out.
I knew she had a history with BOC due to her relationship with Lanier at that time.
    RIP Allen

I used to put the Cronus Cross on all my notebooks when I was in junior high. Ok, ok, I was still doing it in high school too. Didn't get to see them until the Imaginos tour, but they were always one of my favorite bands. Sad news.
