A film worth checking out is The Man Who Haunted Himself. Apparently it was his favourite.

Got that on DVD, it's a pretty good movie and I'm probably due a rewatch -

Just watched 'The Spy Who Loved Me' as a little tribute. Enjoyed it, of course...

A legend. He had such a broad career - early TV, classic Hollywood, then the Saint, Persuaders, Bond and a few decent side projects.

I liked him above any particular role. Seemed like a really good, fun guy.

Godspeed. He had the best double-take look in all of film-dom. It's really his signature move.

RIP Mr. Moore. Since I grew up watching HBO in the early '80s, he was "my" Bond.

RIP what a legend, he kept the British end up...
Great work with UNICEF too, on that basis alone he should actually be made a saint.

He picked the wrong day to die when the world could use 007.

When I was young, back in the 70s/ early 80s, ABC used to show James Bond movies on Sunday Nights, seemingly every week.
Of course, it was almost always Connery/Moore films back then.
I couldn't imagine anyone other than those two playing the part, they both made the role their own.
I thought it would be fun if he had played Indiana Jones' uncle in Kingdom of The Crystal Skulls, but it didn't happen.
He did good work with the Bond films and even better with Unicef.
RIP Mr. Moore! You are missed already.

I will always have a soft spot for The Man with the Golden Gun. It wasn't the first Bond I saw on the big screen - that would be Live and Let Die - but I have treasured memories of my dad taking me to see it when I was a ten-year-old. Going to see the latest Bond film would become a regular ritual for us for some years to come, and for that I am forever indebted to TMWTGG, flawed though it may be.

I feel older today now that we've lost our first James Bond. It was oddly comforting knowing that all of them were still alive. Pretty remarkable for a film series that is 55 years running.

As others have said, his legacy is much more than 007. The fact he was a real life nice guy and good person impresses me more than his stellar acting career.

RIP and prayers for his family and loved ones. Having lost a family member to a short cancer battle I know how difficult it is to lose someone relatively quickly but somehow feel grateful they didn't endure any more suffering than they already did.

I met him at an event in November, 2004. People say you should never meet your heroes. They evidently never met Sir Roger.
A total gent. Exactly what you'd expect him to be. A great raconteur, self-deprecating, funny, still suave.
I got him to sign two Bond photos, one of which was a still from Octopussy with him surrounded by the girls from the circus.
"Oh, I remember them..." he said. :)

A sad loss, he was dapper, suave, witty, and a personality of the highest. I loved Roger Moore as James Bond and still do. His personality will live on as long as his movies are watched the world over!
