    Hi everyone,

I recently picked up After the Gold Rush (k 880044 UK 1974 I believe) and it's just too fast and high pitched! It is as if the turntable is spinning too quickly BUT my other records are fine - which leads me to think it's the record itself. A fast master?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Tim

I haven't heard it with Gold Rush, but the original UK On The Beach is significantly sped up. It's how I got into that album and it took me a while to adjust to hearing the songs at the correct speed. Now I find the original too high pitched by far.

Ok that's interesting. I'd like to find out why this is - whether it's deliberate or a fault with certain pressings.

Sounds like what happened with Billy Joel's debut album. It wasn't deliberate.
