    Excellent!
"The thirteen-track album was recorded in Los Angeles, and features his regular accompanists, Michael Jerome and Taras Prodaniuk, and Richard's guitar tech, Bobby Eichorn, on second guitar. Tracks were recorded analog, with a stripped down, bare-bones approach and minimal overdubbing."

I saw Richard last Saturday and he did a song or two from this. He hasn't done an electric show in my area for a while so hopefully a trio tour will follow.

I haven't seen a trio show for about 1.5 years so. I'd love to see RT tour the new album and come to Portland, OR.

I get the feeling I've heard these songs before. They have that deja vu effect.

Yeah, I'll go see him pretty much any time, in any configuration, but I always look forward to the electric band tours because they're relatively rare.

I'll bite on any morsel Richard puts out no matter how it's packaged but what were they thinking with that cover?

    I'd make that drive!
I think the all-time favorite for me was 3 years ago when I drove the other direction - to SLC - to see RT at "The State Room". If SLC is on your radar for concerts and someone you wants to see has a show there - GO! It's an old children's theatre that they've converted to a SMALL (300 capacity) concert venue. Best sound I've ever experienced, by far, and people shut up and listen to the music (step out to the bar to get a drink, and they won't let you back in until a break between songs).

Anyway, saw RT there, and he opened with 6 songs solo acoustic and then finished the night with the trio. Superb.

Since discovering the place, I've seen several shows there. 2015 was Jackie Greene and (later) RT. 2017 - Josh Ritter. Last month - Lloyd Cole.

Would love to see RT return there...

Richard in the Board Room?
Perhaps he'll have one of his usual comical photos in the booklet poking fun at "the corporate world".

I think that's a dining room. Either way, it's an odd choice for an album cover.

I made the original suggestion on his q & a while back about doing a split show with acoustic and the trio. richard responded that he liked the idea and has since done tours that way but not in our area. I recently sent a request to his site asking about the next time they play near me to do that. no response so far but you never know.

Not the best cover but it's not likely anything he'd put on the cover would attract the larger audience he deserves. Can't wait to hear this but bummed he has no dates scheduled for the rest of the year in the States.

    If we're lucky!

Ironically, I just picked up Hand of Kindness and Daring Adventures on LP this past weekend. I used to have most of his albums on vinyl up to Amnesia but I stupidly sold a bunch of them when I moved a few years ago.

Still savoring those acoustic ones that came out last year. If you pay attention and listen to the guitar work on each song (under headphones, ideally), it should be obvious: nobody ever played like him. Technically, he's the best, and I've heard them all.
