Actually, the excerpt of that song Give More Love wasn't too bad of a song - nice melody and instrumentation.
But it would be greatly improved if someone other than Ringo was singing it. :D

At the risk of blaspheming, I always had a soft spot for the "cover" version done by the Top of the Pops band, Vol. 34 contained Photograph.

"The CD edition of GIVE MORE LOVE will feature four bonus tracks. Versions of 'You Can't Fight Lightning,' Ringo's 1974 US No. 1 'Photograph' and of 'Don't Pass Me By,' which he sang on The Beatles' self-titled “White Album” of 1968, are collaborations based on performances for his 2016 Peace & Love birthday event. The other, of his 1972 hit 'Back Off Boogaloo,' is based on the original recording Starr made when he wrote the song, which he discovered recently while moving house."

There are some very good moments on that album. The Back Off Boogaloo remake was not one of them.

Ringo's been remaking songs for a while now. He did new versions of the relatively obscure Wings and Everybody Wins. He re-cut Octopus's Garden for the CD companion to the illustrated children's book. And, of course, he did a great version of Love Me Do on Vertical Man.

Ringo has incorporated his drumming style into all aspects of his career: reliable, consistent, unfaltering.

Putting out an album under a half-hour seems half-baked to me (See: Ringo 2012). Not that we know how long this album would run if it was just the 10 originals.

I'm thinking I should order The Anthology... So Far set (the only other Ringo release I've yet to buy) along with this, and then listen to what would then be my completed Ringo collection.

Cool to hear Boogaloo is based on his original demo

    More context:

"The other three bonus tracks are collaborations based on performances from Starr's 2016 Peace & Love Birthday event. Alberta Cross performed You Can't Fight Lightning and Vandaveer performed Photograph and Don't Pass Me By. Starr loved their renditions and asked them to each record them for his new album, also adding his own vocals."

"Give More Love" and "Never Without You" were both co-written by Gary Nicholson.

No sign of the "free download" song 'Now The Time Has Come' that was announced in January on this album. Did anybody ever find out where to get this download? Could they have meant "streaming" such as in this article?

Ringo Starr's Peace Song 'Now the Time Has Come' Debuts as Free Download

Although the article seems to differentiate between the two… I find it odd that there is no mention in the article as to where to obtain the download.

It was on soundcloud, which is free.

But the single (two versions of the song) quietly cropped up on Apple Music (but NOT iTunes) in February. I have absolutely no idea what the free download in January was supposed to be.
