Got this link from Old_School over at Canuck Audio Mart.

Sad news on the audio front. Ken Shindo has passed away. Wonder what will happen with his company. The man was the heart and soul of Shindo.

Rest in peace. I finally heard some of his gear two years ago in NYC. Superb sound with Devore speakers.

RIP Mr. Shindo. My thoughts go out to his family and many friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts and homes of many.

Shindo Labs has always been about quality of the circuit design. My understanding is that Shindo Labs will very likely continue on. The designs are timeless and they have a dedicated distributor and dealer network.

How sad. Ken Shindo had the same musical/tone preferences I do. The moment I heard the Cortese amplifier I thought "THAT'S IT! The sound I've been waiting for. My search is over."

Thank you Ken. You will be missed.

The Tone Imports site says Mr. Shindo's wife and sons plan to continue the business.

And I've just discovered that the California dealer has moved from S.F. to a loft conveniently located on my drive to work...

Here is a photo of the late Mr Shindo's listening room, taken with my mobile phone from a French hifi magazine published in January 1999.

His stuff was always very appealing to me but way out of my price range.
