One of the main reasons Alice Cooper was able to surge on successfully after axing his original band. Great team of Wagner and Hunter prompted me many times to play air guitar to those tasty licks when I was a kid! RIP

  15. This one is a huge loss for me. One of my favorite axemen of all-time and played on several of my all-time favorite albums. Very sad here.

R.I.P. what a guitarist. I'll never forget hearing Rock and Roll Animal the first time. The guitar playing by Wagner and Steve Hunter is what blew me away. Sure, Lou's songs were intense and really great too but those guitars were something else entirely.

R.I.P. My dad was and is a big frost fan since we live in Michigan. In fact, I am good friends with bob Riggs's (their drummer) two nephews here. He was a great talent. His stuff with lou and Alice was fantastic too.

R.I.P. Dick was a big part of my youth through his tandem work with Steve Hunter on those marvellous Lou Reed Live albums. Sad day indeed.....

I learned from the interview in this thread it was Wagner who arranged Reed's songs for the stage on R R Animal and Lou Reed Live. He really brought those songs to life.

Listen to the blistering intro on Vicious, the new rhythm of Waiting For The Man, the guitar breaks on Heroin.

Wagner made those Lou Reed live albums.

He was great on those Frost, Cooper, and Reed albums...

I'd love to know who else he secretly ghost guitared for, besides Aerosmith (those phonies!). He may have taken those secrets to the grave, but maybe he wrote 'em down somewhere.

    RIP.
