    "Frank Sinatra"—Cake.

We know of an ancient radiation
    That haunts dismembered constellations
    A faintly glimmering radio station
While Frank Sinatra sings "Stormy Weather"
The flies and spiders get along together
Cobwebs fall on an old skipping record

    Hardnose the Highway- Van Morrison

Hey kids dig the first takes
    Ain't that some interpretation
    When Sinatra sings
    against Nelson Riddle Strings
    And then takes a vacation

On and On - Stephen Bishop

    Down in Jamaica
They got lots of pretty women
    Steal your money
    Then they break your heart

    Lonesome Sue
She's in love with ole Sam
    Take him from the fire
    Into the frying pan

    On and on
    She just keeps on trying
    And she smiles
    When she feels like crying
On and on, on and on, on and on

    Poor ole Jimmy
    Sits alone in the moonlight
    Saw his woman
    Kiss another man

    So he takes a ladder
Steals the stars from the sky
Puts on Sinatra and starts to cry

Thanks to everyone, especially those who included some lyrics. Here are lyrics from some of my picks:

    Pogues--Fairytale of New York

They got cars big as bars
    They got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It´s no place for the old
When you first took my hand on a cold christmas eve
You promised me broadway was waiting for me
You were handsome you were pretty
    Queen of new york city
when the band finished playing they yelled out for more
Sinatra was swinging all the drunks they were singing
    We kissed on a corner
    Then danced through the night.

    Christy Moore--Deportees
    (Costello)

When I came here tonight my pockets were overflowing
She stole my return ticket and I didn't even know it
I prayed to the saints and all the martyrs
For the secret life of Frank Sinatra
And all of these things have to come to pass
In America the law is a piece of a** - poor deportee

    Steely Dan--Janie Runaway

Let's grab some takeout from Dean and Deluca
    A hearty gulping wine
You be the showgirl and I'll be Sinatra
    Way back in '59
Sweetness in heels - look at you - in long black gloves
Come to old blue eyes tell me - who do you love

    Suzanne Vega--Frank & Ava

He's so true. she is too. she says
I love you Frank and then they drank
    All night. what a fight.
He says it isn't me you're thinking of.
She's cool. it makes him cruel
And they needle till the jewels
Go raining down upon the ground
She says its not enough to be in love

Tony Bennett--What Are You Afraid Of?

    Come a little closer
    Stay a little longer
    Now the gang is gone
    Put Sinatra on
    What are you afraid of?

    Elvis Costello--Blue Chair (obliquely)

    Down in the Blue Chair
We can watch our troubles rise
    Like smoke into the air
And drift up to the ceiling
You can feel just like a boy or a man
And next minute you can find yourself kneeling
They're boasting of loving the daylights
right out of her in the small hours
You say that your love lasts forever
but you know the night is just h/ours
    oh oh oh oh oh

(indirectly referencing "Deep in a Dream," and the FS album on which it appears, Wee Small Hours)

This reminds me that Lou mentions both F and N in the live version of "New Age":

waiting for the phone to ring
    diamond necklace on my shoulder
waiting for the phone to ring
lipstick on my neck and shoulder

it seems to be my fancy
to make it with frank and nancy, well
    over the bridge we go
    lookin' for love
    over the bridge we go
    lookin' for love

I think Sammy Davis Jnr sings "As Sinatra Says" in "Love Is A Tender Trap"

I could be wrong though, I may have the wrong song.

Ella Fitzgerald's Ella in Berlin LP [really wonderful sounding slab of antique vinyl, btw] has her extemporizing "For Frank Sinatra I stammer and drool" in her rendition of The Lady is a Tramp.

    Two more:

    - Buddy Greco's version of "My Baby Just Cares For Me" ends with Guess whom she cares for?... It's Frank Sinatra, not me!

    - There's a reference to Frank in Henry Mancini's "Bachelor In Paradise": Lights down low. Frankie's records. And cocktails on the floor.

I believe that's "For Frank Sinatra, I'd whistle and stamp." "Drool" doesn't really rhyme with "tramp." :)
