Holy crap, this fall/winter keeps getting more and more expensive by the minute.

Sorry, nobody in my family is going to get any gifts.

 

There doesn't seem to be any information yet. Two links go nowhere and the other says nothing ... interesting though

 

Amazon Italy mentions three discs. Best case: stereo, mono and outtakes. Worst case: stereo and mono in SACD and vinyl.

Wow if it is true but no info to be seen, could somebody be getting mixed up with another 50th Anniversary album with a similar white cover?

 

They could just add the mono mix of "Sympathy for the Devil" as a bonus track and save a CD.

Let's hope that they're more generous with the outtakes than they were with the Satanic Majesties set.

 

Decca label logo disappeared from Stone product decades ago, and it ain't coming back.

I’d love to have them add a dvd of the Goddard film that shows them recording Sympathy.

It will likely be your second scenario. It is very difficult to imagine that out of nowhere, ABKCO and The Rolling Stones are going to release a disc of prime outtakes without any fanfare lead-up. Even The Beatles let the cat out of the bag months ago, without revealing anything substantive, that something was going on with the White Album.

 

Outtakes would be great but I can’t see it.

Didn’t ABKCO only ensnare the rights to the recordings already out ? Therefore the Stones would own any outtakes?

 

It would make sense there may be something, given what was done last year with tsmr... but who knows. I’ll watch and see if it amounts to anything. The outtakes would be a great extra. Or a video of the sessions.

 

That doesn't explain Metamorphosis.

 

Metamorphosis was a settlement in Klein's favour for one more unissued LP so the Stones were willingly reluctant.

I do recall a Rolling Stone article from over 7 years ago where Don Was was saying that he was really pushing for a Beggars Banquet set. So, who knows? Maybe it'll turn out to be more special than any of us had any reason to expect otherwise?
