Rolling Stones- Goats Head Soup SHM-SACD Reviews

Mine arrived in the mail today. Haven't had a chance to listen but the mastering credits read the same as 2011 issues. It also has a copyright 2009 as well as 2011 when the originals don't..

 

I missed out on the Goats SHM sacd the first time around and was gonna purchase this SHM sacd reissue. The last 6 or 7
posts on this thread cast doubt on whether the reissue is the same 2011 mastering. And the thread just died...

Can someone confirm the reissue is the same 2011 mastering??

P.S. Last week i received the Quadrophenia shm sacd reissue and it sounds fabulous!! But of course I've never heard the
original shm sacd to compare it to.

 

Everyone of these Stones shm sacds sound great, imo. Quad is great, as well.

I bought these when they came out. However, it doesn't make sense that this would be a new master. I think CD Japan is correct in their description that it's the 2011.

Highly recommended, and highly crankable!

 

No doubt it is the same as the original mastering.

It sounds really great, lots of 'air', ambiance and punch, so I'm assuming it's the same as the 2011 mastering.

Has anyone compared the original (2011) SHM-SACD of Goats Head Soup to the more recent (2014) reissue of Goats Head Soup?

I realize they should be identical, but has anyone compared them?

Are they identical?

Is there any reason to seek out the original, besides the deluxe packaging?
