My first post and I hope I don't mess up with my memories.

I spent years (long before the internet) to find a promo-copy of the US-Satisfaction to get this mix you say that is only on the 1989 Singles Collection (and the CD-single from 1990).

Finally I got it (about 25 years ago) - with the orange swirl London-label and to me (back to my memories) it's the same version that was used for the Singles Collection?!

Anybody else who can confirm this?

The version you have now is similar but not exactly the same. What you have on the orange swirl London label is the original single mix with the uncensored line. The one on the '89 Singles Collection was a remix, meant to emulate that version but not exactly the same. So you have the "correct" version on your "Satisfaction" single, and this version appears on the Stray Cats collection in the new mono box set, albeit running ~2% slower than the original single.

Listening to UK Out of Our Heads now. Another one with all true mono cuts, right? And Luke, what do you mean when you say in your notes that "Heart of Stone" is the only unique mono mix?

Correct. Here's what's on the 45, albeit from a stock copy:

Unedited ("I had two flops, I break my ass every day"), but with the normal fade ("I'm so sharp, you won't belie-").

I'm not exactly sure what language you're referring to, but Heart of Stone is the only track on that album that has an officially released stereo mix; the entire rest of the album has only been issued in mono. Of course, on everything from 2002 on, Heart of Stone is a modern remix.

What language? I'm just wondering if there are any m0no fold downs on that LP, or is it all true mono mixes. Also, what you meant when you said that "Heart of Stone" is the only unique mono mix on the LP.

I'm just saying I don't know what comments of mine you're referring to.

Heart of Stone is the only song that has both mono and stereo mixes, and the original mono mix is a dedicated mix.

Well, while investing to read, I don't know much about fold downs and such but I almost have made it through all the vinyl and the sound is fantastic. Finally a Miss Amanda Jones that rocks hard. Right now I am listening to Beggars and it's, imo, the best sounding version I have compared to: U.S. Pressing circa 70s, 2002 reissue and hdtracks 24/88.

Had a chance today to listen to the original London 45 of 19th Nervous Breakdown and then the new Stray Cats version, back to back. Definitely a different mix but the CD has a lot more low end and drums which is nice. I didn't listen to the 2002 version.

The mastering on the 45 leaves a bit to be desired.

I feel the same about the original UK Decca 45 as well. The highs and lows were rolled off, big time.

I must say I really enjoyed the mono mixes from the US London Flowers LP I found this weekend. The second side is all kinds of unique mono goodness.

Yes I'm the weirdo who was too cheap to buy this box and is piggy-backing off the mono mania of this thread with my beat up Londons. I had ventured too far off into Monoland on my own by the time they announced this. I had secured all the DSDs LPs; there was no turning back. I had to make my own way in the cold, old world of mono.

The first 2 tracks on side 2 are fold downs on the London LP and dedicated mono mixes on the box.

    I bought :

    1986 ABKCO Now!
    1985 London Between The Buttons
    1985 London Hot Rocks 1
    1985 London Hot Rocks 2

    I had already:

    2002 SACD ABKCO 12 X 5
    2002 SACD ABKCO December's Children
    1985 London Aftermath
    2002 SACD ABKCO Flowers
    2002 SACD ABKCO Satanic
    2002 SACD ABKCO Beggars Banquet
2002 SACD ABKCO Let It Bleed
2002 SACD ABKCO More Hot Rocks

now I can consider myself satisfied with having even the Mono Box or something is still missing?

Well, I've got all of those and more (although I have the SACD of Now! rather than the '86 CD) and I've ordered the box. So obviously I can't be satisfied with what I have, but YMMV.

From what I read earlier also "GRRR!" necessary for the correct version of "Ruby Tuesday" :shh:

It would be possible to know in one list everything necessary to have in CD all the original mixes.

The correct mono version is in the mono box.

The correct stereo version is on the original London and ABKCO CDs, as well as Grrr and via downloads.

There's also at least 4 officially released mixes that you would have to resort to vinyl for, as they've never been officially released on CD:

Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (stereo mix)
You Can't Always Get What You Want (original stereo single edit)
Brown Sugar ('rough' stereo mix on first pressings of Hot Rocks)
    Wild Horses (as above)

I'm glad they used the dedicated mono mix like the single and not the fold down of "Paint It Black".

    Only on vinyl.

Long/No. 2/RCA version of ENSTL. The short version only exists in mono.
