Hmm, yep. That's the whole question. Great album, no question. Sound quality? Meh. Why will his one be any different from the MANY that have come before? MoFi...? Monarch? I'll wait and see. If a lot of guys flip over this then maybe. Till then?, I'm not sure there'll ever be a great sounding version of this one.

I'm happy with the SHM-SACD, so I'm off the train for more re-buys.

I was in for the 3 disc set, but since the 3rd disc is just an excerpt from the Marquee show, I'll buy the Blu Ray of that instead.

I may go for the 2 CD edition at some point for the second disc, but I'm in no rush. I already own the 2009 remaster.

I think the whole idea of Deluxe Editons is a bit daft. Especially when the original album a) has been "re-mastered" several times before b) the album mix is actually an already available one as in this case. It's just a cash grab. It would be better ditch the actual album disc, issue the rarities and unreleased tracks and call it "Sticky Fingers Sessions" or whatever. That's why we have torrent sites and bootleggers...

Agreed, especially as most of the studio recordings slated to be on this Deluxe Edition have circulated in trading circles for years. And while the audio quality of most of these bootlegged tracks aren't top notch, they may actually prove to be a more pleasurable listening experience than the brickwalled versions* that are to be included on the Deluxe Edition.

*a la the Deluxe Edition of Some Girls.

The Amazon track listing for the double LP includes "Midnight Rambler" but the Stones site doesn't. I'm guessing the latter is correct, as the five Roundhouse songs would be too damn long for a single LP side. In any case, I'm gonna hold out for firsthand reports on the sound.

I bought the Super Deluxe version and the Marquee CD/BD and while I ripped all the CDs to FLAC files and have listened to them on my X5, I don't think I've taken the actual set out of the cardboard box in over a month...

I especially like the drumming on the version of Wild Horses on that disc.

I went with the Target deal to take advantage of the free vinyl. I'm enjoying the bonus disc included in the two cd version. Kind of wish I'd gone all out for the live show. But I had the last three Led Zeppelin reissues on my mind so I went with the budget option. With that being said, I'm excited to see the complete concert film when it comes out.

I have the 2Cd version ,a friend burned me a copy of Leeds so I have that disc and the bonus Cd in the double package. I already had three versions of the album so I stored that separately. Worked out perfectly for me, as that's the combo I wished the Stones made available for purchase. I also have the CD/Blu of The Marquee which I love.
