Anyone aware of plans to give the first and third albums SACD treatment? As good as Abraxas and three are IMHO the first album is where its really at.
I like Santana 1 also. I heard them perform all the music from this album at the New Orleans Pop festival in 1969 (Oops, that really dates me). Of course, it was the only music they had at this time. I had never heard of them, but they just blew me away. The sound was singularly unique. I think the problem is that this recording is not as good as 2. When I first heard 2, I was disappointed, because the sound was different. However, over time I grew to love it just as much as 1. There is more of Carlos Santana's guitar work on 2 and it is beautiful. I hope you get your wish.
Wish I may wish I might have this SACD I wish for tonight 1 and 3 would be great. I really want to hear Evil Ways in MCH-SACD. As I would all three Boston albums.
