Looks like Neal is going to be pulling some double duty.
Only 3 dates listed, with Journey going out with the Doobie Brothers in May/June/July/August shed tour.

    From Journey's website:

April 13, 2016 Madison Square Garden (Journey and Santana)
April 15, 2016 Uncasville, Ct (Journey and Santana)
April 16 2016 Allentown, Pa (Journey and Santana)

These tickets are listed as being on sale now.....

Hmmm, and there are actually 5 East Coast theatre dates up in April as well just before those dates, but that looks like Santana only.

Maybe Rollie actually comes out and does a few with Journey.
Strange that Santana would do 5 theatre dates, yet only hook on with Schon for a cameo at the 3 shows? And after this Vegas March TV taping, which looks like a full on show?
And I'm assuming that Rollie would be on for the whole Santana tour, but who knows?

It'll be interesting to see what happens, but not at the prices they look to be charging.....but I digress.

Hmmm, so it appears to be.
Noticed Shrieve won't be playing with them either.

Can't quite wrap my head around what's going on here.
The album has been 2,3 years in development after a 45 year split.
They release it in the Spring, and then don't tour it (unless they go out in the Fall).
Yet both Santana and Journey will be on the road this summer, and Rollie/Shrieve will be doing nothing?
I don't get it, but maybe all that was worked out before hand, (ie "I'll commit to playing on an album, but nothing afterwards")
Seems like a lot of effort to get this thing done, then just release it with little support to follow up on it.

Steve Smith back playing with Journey?
    Did not catch that.
I heard he wouldn't play again w/o Steve Perry being back in.
Guess he's helping his old bandmates out of jam of sorts here.

    **Santana Reunion Inspired an Outburst of Almost 50 Songs;

The reunion of Santana‘s classic-era members sparked a tidal wave of creativity.

As Carlos Santana confirms in a new talk with the Huffington Post, the group worked on far more music than will see the light of day on the upcoming Santana IV.

“We probably recorded close to 50 [songs], but this is what was most ready to come out,” he explained.

“These songs are not in an embryonic state like the other ones.”

Gregg Rolie, the group’s returning keyboardist and singer, described their recent time together as “just like riding a bicycle.

It was something about how we grew up together with this music and playing with each other.

It was really a jam band.
That’s what we did the first couple of days.
We just drank and jammed. …

It had feel beyond belief; there was some great stuff going on.”

Together for the first time since 1971’s Santana III, Santana, Rolie and second guitarist Neal Schon returned to a shared early musical experience – specifically, their days at the Fillmore.

“We were thinking of honoring the Grateful Dead, Ravi Shankar, Miles Davis, the Doors,” Santana said.

“Just go there, go to that place where you can still smell the patchouli oil and the weed, you know?”

At the same time, Rolie admitted that much has changed over the decades.

“We’re better writers, we’re better with people, we’re better all the way around as human beings – and that leads to the music,” he said.

“If you’re having a good time with the talent and the people that are involved, it’s going to be good.”

The always-busy Santana also noted that his next projects will include collaborations with members of the Isley Brothers, Herbie Hancock and others.

  14. Well, in September , Santana and Journey are together on a bill at SanFrancisco's Giants' baseball park, AT+T.
I wonder if this will feature the full original Santana lineup, since Neil will already be there and 40,000 or so will be on hand.

Oh, yeah, also on the card are The Doobie Brothers and Steve Miller Band!!

I saw some show on TV. Don't know if it was this one. The broadcast was only an hour long with commercials. It was a pretty good show though, short as it was.
