Schiit Modi2 MB overkill for Apple Music/Movies?

Apple Music is not played at the house much unless it’s an album that doesn’t have a vinyl release or I’m insanely lazy. It’s served by an AppleTV 4K which also served movies and Netflix.

I want a good DAC but don’t want to spend money needlessly as I’m replacing my entire system.

So given that AppleTV audio is 24/48 is the Multibit option overkill?

 

Probably. I have a Modi Uber and stopped using it with Apple TV. The sound I get from the TV’s audio out into my system is actually a tad more pleasing. While the Modi may a a slight edge on clarity, the TV out has a very pleasing solidity and oomph when needed.
