    Scott Walker.

You know him. You love him.

This is a very important and scientifically significant question.

Which one of his "Scott" albums is your favorite?

    Scott 1?
    Scott 2?
    Scott 3?
    Scott 4?

Yes, I know you like "Tilt", but that's not the question.

The results of this poll will be submitted to US Department of Mental Health for future reference.

    Thanks. Let's have some fun.

    Next! Next!

Side 1 of Scott 3 beats everything. As a whole, I'd go with 4.

As an aside, the first four tracks on Nite Flights are great!

Overall - I find Scott 3 to be the most satisfying album.
But Scott has "Such A Small Love" which is an astonishingly brilliant song.
And Scott 2 has "Plastic Palace People" which is almost as astonishingly good.
And Scott 4 has "Boy Child" which is just astonishing...
What an amazing run of albums.

  6. Like asking 'which of your children is your favourite?'. I'd concur with Sid Hartha, side 1 of Scott 3 is sublime but taken as a whole I'd say Scott 4 just sneaks it.... Just.

I voted for Scott 2. I like all four of 'em, of course, but Scott 2 has so many of my favorite cuts, it's the one I'd rescue from the fire first.

Mateo Sanboval For me, the action is the juice.

Tough call, but Scott 2 takes it. Some of his best originals and, I think, his best selections of Brel of the four records.

Side note: the first four tracks on Walker Bros' Nite Flights and Climate of Hunter are some easily accessible yet underutilized Scott.

No, but really, for me it's 4, followed very closely by 3. I listen to 1 and 2 far less.

Fantastic records all; I went with Scott 4 more or less randomly, but 2 and 3 are just as good.

Tough call but I went with 4.

And here's another honorary mention for his Nite Flights material.

  17. Most of Scott 2 and the first side of Scott 3 are my favorites.

  18. Scott 2 has the best Brel covers but side 2 peters out just a little. As I recall I heard them and bought them in sequence in about 1990. Each one was a thrill to discover. I voted for 4 because of 'Angels Of Ashes' 'Boy Child'and 'Hero Of The War', he didn't need the support of Brel songs by then.

It'd been awhile, but reviewing the tracklists I see 2 was definately my favorite.

"The Amorous Humphrey Plugg" was a quite a sound tapestry.

[IMG] There's something special and other-wordly about all four, but there's just something about "SCOTT" that does it for me above the others.

Just imagine, a "boy band" type group of heartthrobs for the teenies and the lead singer goes and lays THIS on the table just months after their last LP!

Scott 4 hands down. The preceding three albums are accomplished, but 4 is just miles ahead.
