Don't all (or most) humans do that eventually? Isn't that more or less the same territory covered in Springsteen's "Independence Day"?

If you care for the artwork/sleeve notes, get the CD(s), man.

  7. In the article Zappa wrote about rock music for Life in 1968, he came across as kind of admiring of The Beatles' embracing of SOTA multitrack recording techniques. Little he knew, I figure, of Magic Alex's "craftsmanship" in this regard...

I got this album (on vinyl) recently. Very amusing.

Of course, he was there with Paul Buff , and his 'home-made' 5-track machine, in the early '60's.

Looks awesome!! I guess this is the Rain Edition, hence the drops on the sleeve/shrink wrap.

This bloody forum has just cost me nearly 140 euro!

I'm a pensioner and I haven't got a lot of spare cash. I bought the Sergeant Pepper album the day it came out - before most of you were born (waving walking stick in the air). :D

I then bought the stereo version a year later.
I replaced the stereo version in the early 70s.
I then bought the frigging CD in 1987.
I then bought the re-mastered stereo in 2009 (along with all the other albums)
I then bought the bloody mono version in 2009 (along with all the others)

I am up to the hilt with Sergeant Peppers so I was quite happy to buy the single remixed album - until I saw the sneak video of the big box on this damn forum!
And until I got jealous of all you guys. Then I said to myself (and the wife): "I am perfectly entitled to buy the big over-priced set because 50 years ago I was 21 and I want a bit of that back!"
And quite a few of my friends, who were Beatle fans, are gone and I'm still here.
So I cancelled my order for the single CD and went for the big one.

So, thanks to most of you, I will have no pocket money for the next couple of months! Luckily, I don't smoke and I can get by on very cheap wine!
    To hell with it!
I am totally p*ssed off and enjoying every minute of it!! :D:D:D

As long as you can wave that walking stick and enjoy music, you're alright!

You got off easy. You apparently never bought the album on cassette or the HMV CD box set also . :p
As far as having no pocket money, eating is highly overrated .

Economy food suggestion : Heat water to a boil and then add hot dogs.
Cook per instructions , remove the hot dogs and drink the water they cooked in and sell the cooked hot dogs . Gotta have Beatles money somehow. :D

    Thankfully I missed that horror!
I still wish I have one for my Pepper collection.
Which is very small compared to some of the other members of this fantastic forum!

I was going to go for the 2cd after the Canadian order got 86'd as well...but when I saw the booklet and the updated recording notes...decided to go big. (again). I was 8 when Pepper came out. (Did not hear it until 74 I think.
