Fantastic band. I bailed out on my one chance to see them live, when visiting San Francisco about ten years ago. Still regret that decision.

Their catalog is very hard to track down. I would also recommend Foxy Music - that might be my favorite of theirs. Keep looking.

Hey, can I post a top ten, even a few years later? 2010 was a great year for rock music:

    1. The National, "High Violet"
    2. The Arcade Fire, "The Suburbs"
    3. Dum Dum Girls, "I Will Be"
    4. Beach House, "Teen Dream"
    5. Zola Jesus, "Stridulum II"
    6. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, "Before Today"
    7. The Walkmen, "Lisbon"
    8. The Black Keys, "Brothers"
    9. Vampire Weekend, "Contra"
    10. Sleigh Bells, "Treats"

This includes many albums that I didn't hear until after 2010 was over, so I get the benefit from hindsight. It's also a rock-only list; I don't listen to enough pop, hip-hop, or country to have an informed opinion, and the absence of these genres is not a comment on their quality.

I'll chime in late, too... not all mine are rock, but if that's what you're into, The Sheepdogs CD is definitely one of the best rock albums of the past decade. :)

    Caribou - Swim
Four Tet - There is Love in You
Ray Lamontagne - God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise
    The Orb - Metallic Spheres
The Sheepdogs - Learn & Burn
    KT Tunstall - Tiger Suit
    Hawksley Workman - Meat
    Hawksley Workman - Milk

    Wow, zombie thread.

In hindsight, 2010 was a pretty special year for music. I feel like there were two bona fide classic albums that came out during that year, both of which I still listen to regularly: Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and LCD Soundsystem's This is Happening. Plus, Janelle Monae, Flying Lotus, Gonjasufi, Arcade Fire, and Ariel Pink all put out their best work in that year, and that debut Earl Sweatshirt mixtape still sounds exceptional. An above-average year for sure.
