When the Rutles TV special first appeared on American television in 1978 it came in dead last in the Nielsen ratings for all programs for that week.
Maybe they are overdue for an Emmy?

I can't believe how much the young Mhani looks like his dad Stig. It's uncanny.

Leggy Mountbatten should get in too. He had a good eye for trousers.

I'm guessing that they're not reminiscing about the scene of Dirk & Martini's wedding.

    why not?

tupac shakur and the sex pistols are both in.

  18. Nah, they were even less of a real band than the Monkees or Spinal Tap. The only satiric act I'd induct is Weird Al, maybe not as one of the regular inductees but under some rock and roll equivalent of the Irving Thalberg award, in recognition of his status as the court jester of pop-rock music.

Yes, induct the Rutles, not that I've seen the film, heard the record, watched the show, or whatever it is. I'd also induct Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem, Josie & the Pussycats and even Punch & Judy at this point. I have some interest in the R&RHOF, I always pay attention to who is inducted, for the most part. And the controversy it sometimes generates can be fun. Sometimes the live performances at the ceremony are interesting. But I don't give a monkey's if they un-induct everyone, erase the books, and plow the physical building under. Worse things have happened to Cleveland.
