The other day a co-worker asked me if I like The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I said I'd seen them a few times in the early 90s, but had lost interest. She mentioned they were playing a local theater and tickets were $24. That sounded like a good deal to her, so she bought a pair. Turns out it was The Red Hot Chili PIPERS. I checked out their site and frankly, I'd rather see them than Flea and Co. Red Hot Chilli Pipers
Ryan Adams & Bryan Adams? There's no confusion for me, but I bet some people may have ended up at the wrong gig.
As a kid, the Allman and Osmond brothers (though I know the latter were actually called the Osmonds).
I attended a benefit concert in Berkeley in 1974 with jerry Garcia & merl saunders and taj mahal. also on the bill was the rowan brothers. I recall hearing someone outside asking who they were saying he thought it was supposed to be the allman brothers.
I always think of the early 90's synth/industrial band Skinny Puppy when I hear the name of the current jazz/rock band Snarky Puppy.
The Who/The Guess Who Just an anecdote from decades ago, I remember having a conversation with a friend who was learning guitar. I mentioned if he knew anything from The Who & he said he wanted to learn American Woman & some other GW songs.
Mark -Almond (Jon Mark and Johnny Almond) and Marc Almond. It drives me nuts that most stores file Mark-Almond under A.
When we were teenagers and into Van Halen we used to joke about our parents getting excited that they bought us the new Vangelis album.
That's the worst offender, for me. May as well have named themselves "The Beatle" or " The Rolling Stone."
In the early 2000's I liked a band from Canada called 'The Datsons'. Then a band from I think Australia came out around that same time calling themselves 'The Datsuns'. To differentiate themselves from 'The Datsuns', the Canadian band 'The Datsons' called themselves 'The Datson Four'. Then the 'Datson Four' dropped their name and morphed into 'The High Dials'.
