That would be the great Beryl Reid.

Love this film, but I wouldn’t really categorise it as working class. Given the lead character’s occupation as a soap opera star, I’d say it was decidedly middle class.

He's my new discovery. Try and get any title with him in it, Ice Cold In Alex for example.

    Amazing Mad Dogs ensemble cast.
    He's got a seventies throwback look, gritty..exudes mucho/macho gravitas.

Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role, not even credited. But yes, she’s there.

Very attractive woman back in the day.

She was also in Some Like It Sexy (1969)..a rather self explanatory film title that says it all, I guess. :D

You’ve put me in the mood for them now. Yes, it was a golden period for British film making in the 60s. Saturday Night Sunday Morning is indeed a masterpiece. I also really liked The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner. Alan Sillitoe was pivotal to these films, as he wrote the original novels.

    Darling
Hard to believe the US 1965 release cut four minutes out of the film, the au natural cheeky scene. Yet ..it was a big hit in the USA.

Always found it a sad film, though poignant.

    Just seen Fellini's Satyricon earlier.
Richard Attenborough( Christie), who'd have thought. Felt sorry for Timothy Evans.

British cinema was thriving in the sixties not only Kitchen sink, but Carry On.., Hammer films. Jolly good time old sport.

I own the MoC BD, but I’m not a huge Fellini fan, to be honest. I found this film a bit of a slog to get through. I quite like City of Women, though; go figure.

Had to leave the screening as I had some creep next to me. Manager recommended 10 Rillington Place, instead. :D
