So Tired, from Uriah Heep's Wonderworld album. This one doesn't make ya wanna sleep, but get up and boogie, rather.

Billy Bragg / Wilco - "California Stars"

"I'd like to rest my heavy head tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd like to lay my weary bones tonight
On a bed of California stars

    I'd love to feel
    Your hand touching mine
    And tell me why
    I must keep working on

    Yes I'd give my life
    To lay my head tonight
On a bed of California stars"

    Beautiful song.

I heard Phil Collins' "Why Can't It Wait Till Morning" last night and thought of this thread. Great tune. About being tired and wanting to wait till daylight when things are clearer.

    Some from the '40s:

    So Tired, Russ Morgan
I Dream of You, Frank Sinatra
I Can Dream Can't I, Andrews Sisters (remade by the Carpenters)
Dreamer's Holiday, Buddy Clark. Does anyone know of a good sounding source for this? Every version I've heard is afflicted with a lot of "wow."
Dream Along With Me, Perry Como (from the '50s). Actually, ANYTHING by Mr. "C" may be sleep inducing. ;)
