There are countless songs that do this to me but I would like to name 2 that immediately came to mind,

    "Angel" - Sarah McLachlan

"Deep Red Bells" - Neko Case  from Blacklisted

The first because it reminds me of someone I was very much in love with at the time when I first heard it and Neko's because it's just a truly tremendous song from a great album.

The orchestral coda to Paul McCartney's song "Tug Of War"; segueing into the Steve Gadd/Ringo Starr intro to "Take It Away". Gives me goosebumps every time!

"Someone Saved My Life Tonight," Elton John ... from the bridge until the very end of the song. As emotionally powerful as Elton ever got, IMO ...

A live performance by Barbara Nissman of a short Ginastera piece with a title that translates as something like "Dance of the Sad Eyed Maiden".

    Or for something completely different,
Frank Sinatra: Blues in the Night (stereo version).
