That's very interesting and commendable. I love Bandcamp. I've just started exploring it and found a few good new artists already. Also, as an artist, it's great to be able to get my own music 'out There's in good quality (for what it's worth).

I always check there first- I love knowing that the artists are getting a decent cut of the money for their efforts

Certainly better than buying the 1972 vinyl reissues.

Me too, although it’s a bit annoying that the streaming before purchase is only 128kbps, and that buyers who don’t have a bandcamp account don’t show up. I haven’t sold much, but more than appears there!

    Love bandcamp though.

Here is what they replied on Facebook:

These are the originally released masters so will be no different from the CDs you own. The only difference here for people who like downloads is that you can DL a wav or FLAC file rather than the compressed files you get from iTunes etc.

Just got a couple of emails from Bandcamp announcing Duophonic reissues of the Switched On compilations.

"Refried Ectoplasm [Switched On Volume 2] Remastered edition of a compilation of Stereolab singles and rarities, first issued in 1995. Initial copies come on clear vinyl. Includes download card. Reissued alongside new vinyl editions of the companion volumes Switched On, Aluminum Tunes [Switched On Volume 3], and a CD anthology of all 3 volumes."

For anyone who does not have these, this must be very good news!

One of the rare bands from the era to avoid the brickwalled masterings, though there was a bit of a decline with their last two releases. Most of their CDs sound great.

    GOOD NEWS!!!!

All the old duophonic releases sound fantastic, hope these will be the same.

    EDIT.

    duophonic - Home

All these LPs are up for Download. Do they now have the rights to release the whole catalog again?

Reckless in Chicago always seems to have the CDs used and for good prices too. One of the few artist I got the CDs and vinyl for. I needed to have good rips of these to listen to at work.

I don't understand how those 1972 pressing sound so bad. I know people said these are CD sourced, but the original CDs sound great.

The web site for Duophoinc (not the band camp page) has all the LPs for Flac download now, so I hope this means the legal issues are done.

Also if you are in the US and order on bleep.com vs the Bandcamp site it is cheaper
