Technics RS-TR355 Recording problems

    Does anyone have any experience with these? I can't record cassette to cassette for the life of me. I followed the manual so maybe it's broken? The manual also sucks. I read somewhere that it only records on type IV cassettes. Does that mean it can only record FROM IV cassettes too? How can I tell what type my cassette is?
