Yes, I can't argue with that!

Indeed, the first two tracks are my two favorite Zeppelin songs of all time! In that sense, only "With A Little Help From My Friends" makes my Top 5 for The Beatles (out of Pepper's first three). Then again, similar to "The Song Remains The Same / The Rain Song", I naturally think of Pepper's first two numbers as "one song".

I would completely agree with all those statements, but sadly we’re only allowed three tracks. At least we’re not talking about Chicago II. In my opinion, the whole first disc could be considered a peak, plus Fancy Colours and 25 or 6 to 4.

  6. I don't know, I think "Moonlight Mile" is one of the best songs on the album.

Two albums come to mind immediately; XTC Skylarking and Camper Van Beethoven's Keylime Pie. These albums are strong albums all the way through but the first three or four tracks of side one are just killer on both of these albums. Most times they are all I play.

With all due respect, I can't believe I'm the first to quibble with this. Caravan? Glad Tidings? Into the Mystic (what many consider his greatest song)?

If this thread were “albums that are front loaded with three best known songs first” my post would say...
    See my avatar!

But peaking with first 3 songs is something different. So I won’t say it about 1999. There’s so much more than Delirious.

I love the entire album but the first three songs are perfect together.

Both kind of cheating since 3 songs are on side one. ;)

Well those songs are great as well. Moondance is a masterpiece and almost all of the songs on the album are clear 10/10. My two favourite songs on the album is the first two. I do prefer Caravan and Into The Mystic to Crazy Love but It’s a tough call.

The ultimate example to my mind is Drink Me by the Anglo-Dutch band Salad. Although they were marketed as Britpop, the three fantastic singles that open the album ("Motorbike To Heaven", "Drink The Elixir" and "Granite Statue") are more in a psychedelic pop vein, and in some ways recall an updated Shocking Blue. The remaining tracks are simply lesser variations on the same theme.
