Only the first two albums have dedicated mono mixes. Waiting For The Sun is a fold-down, with only 3 songs in true mono, albeit on the 45's. See here:

  3. I'd still like to hear this one for myself to determine. The US mono is such a rare LP that I wonder how many people with critical listening skills have compared it (and not a needle drop from a torrent site) to the stereo mix. Seems odd that only 'Wintertime Love' - of all songs to receive extra work - would be the only one with a dedicated mix, outside of the singles.

This is The Doors we are talking about, so I have a hard time getting too excited. I'd love to see London Fog and the 1st generation Matrix in its entirety be released as was promised many moons ago. I don't expect to see anything new. Maybe they'll release Toronto, Hawaii, Bakersfield or a show from their trip across the pond. But, it really reverts to promises, promises, promises.
    I'm not holding my breath.

Can't see mainstream releases of mediocre sounding live tapes such as Hawaii and Bakersfield, as good as the performances may be.

  10. Me too but what are you implying? I'd like the mono versions on CD and I'm lead to believe the RSD release was not from the original tapes.

Well since they already released Vancouver they could release Bakersfield. The audio is the same.

Well t0 start, Jeff needs approval from Robby, Ray, John and Morrison/Courson estate. If they don't all agree than it doesn't get released. Jeff can't put anything out on his own. That's not his job anyway. He has input for sure but he manages their music and legacy. He's also done an excellent job of it too despite what some say on the other romper room sites. The Doors and Courson Family have the ultimate say on what they want released. If they don't want it. Then it doesn't go out. End of story.
