The Doors - The Soft Parade 50, what do we expect?

The more I review the contents of this release, the more I think it was odd to include Who Scared You at the tail-end of the original album. The bonus tracks on disc two take up less than 40 minutes of playing time, and that would have been the appropriate disc for its placement (ideally with the proper mix).

 

Would disc 1 and 2 fit on a single cd?

 

Both CDs are just under 38 minutes.

 

Yes, the total playing time would be arriving 75 minutes. That would certainly have been a way to cut down the overall retail price of the set, but how about adding some real value and filling out disc two with some additional outtake material?

 

certainly is not hte way to hold the booklet! lot of fingerprints!

 

Typical management retail price inflation tactic. Spread out the already thin content across two less than half filled discs (instead of one full disc).

 

Just keep telling yourself that.

 

That info comes right from a Doors insider who has known for years that it would be released "soon".

I really wonder what that poster is inside of. I really doubt he is a Doors insider.

My thoughts exactly. I've tagged it as "disc 2" in my system.

 

Rock is Dead, is my favorite thing in a long time.

This is the best of the 50th sets, so far.

 

I have that, it was actually kind of hard to find... It came with a booklet that featured lyrics and words to RID and his poetry. Included some neat pictures, really cool part of my collection. I'll have to see if Coolambinding is on there tomorrow!

Dude... You don't even wanna know what I paid for it. I'd pick it up... I'd pick it up and I'd probably buy it off you to have two of them. Lol.

How is the sound on RID? Does it stack up to the sound on the 50th?

 

I don’t know if anyone here cares or not. The lithograph poster was shipped out separately on Friday November 8th.

 

Out of interest how did tapes come out from the Matrix shows in the past. Were they copies of Abram's tapes? And I guess the multi million dollar question - how did they leak?

 

Doors office. Some of the AL show soundboards also leaked the same way.

 

I'll be cleaning it and giving it a listen this afternoon, just got off the graveyard shift. Though in terms of quality, I am positive it's no contest with the new edition.
