The real issue was jumping on a leather couch with his shoes on.

Also weird is the 11 year pattern.

Mimi, Nicole and Katie - each wife was 11 years younger than the previous.

  4. So did I, but in fora like this. If there's a proven statement in a mainstream publication from Alba to this effect, I've never seen it cited.

Oh c'mon, I believe this is just one of many rumors about Tom with no basis in reality.

I can't tell you how many times people here after finding out I know Tom asked me if he lived in Nellie Gail. That is a upper scale neighborhood near Laguna Niguel about 20 minutes from here.

I can assure you that Tom has never lived there since the time I first met him in 1991, yet I've been asked that question dozens of times from people who do not know each other.

How or why are rumors like this started?

Never denied by Alba. Some of the stories were removed from websites - someone wanted thestory gone.

Jennifer Garner was also mooted to meet with Tom for "an upcoming project"

Well, well, well I had forgotten Tom was with Mimi Rogers back then. I haven't seen her in a while but she was really attractive during that time. Actually I do remember something about Tom not "doing a whole lot" during their time together.

Tom is one peculiar dude! And the oddest thing about the 'couch incident' is how forced it seemed. I have to say that I have never cared for him, and think he is miscast in everything he does.

Doesn't he live in Pacific Palisades?

I don't think he is either. I think he's remote, extremely bland and odd. He's actually one of my favorite actors, he is insane though.

He did, but not any longer. I did a lot of work in that house starting with a major remodel before they moved in in 1991. He moved in with Nic shortly after they were married, but when they broke up he moved out to another house in PP. A few months later he bought a new house in Beverly Hills.

I've never been to that house. I have been to other houses of his in New York and Colorado quite a few times and almost went to Sydney once, but that never materialized.

When I worked for him I wasn't supposed to talk about any details of his private life, but this is not much of a disclosure. I haven't worked for him since the Paramount shake out a few years ago when he made some major changes in his organization.

Oh he does, but not in Orange County. I guess it's possible he lived there before I first met him in 1991 but I surely never heard about it. I asked one of his long time assistants once and was told that he never lived there.

Definetly insane. He divorced Nicole Kidman and then jumped on a sofa over Katie Holmes.

Would you be so happy if you once owned a Porsche and now drive a Ford Escort? Yeah Tom, we believe you're happy.

I do think the TomKat wedding had a strong contract/prenup. Probably why Tom waited a year or two for the actually ceremony.

Cruise divorced Kidman about a month before their 10th wedding anniversary. Under mandatory Cali law he'd have to provide alimony for life if they got divorced later. Their divorce was settled quietly and Nicole never dished. Apparently their adopted kids spend much more time with Tom than Katie in Australia.

Mimi Rogers and Cher(another in the 11 year pattern?) are both on record saying that he was "very straight".

One well kept secret is that he only finished grade 9(GED since?) and some believe he's functionally iliterate. He does admit to being dyslexic. He may have scripts put onto tape for him to memorize. Try to find a photo or quote about him reading.

My answer to the OPs question might come in the form of a question: Can you imagine Paul Newman doing the same thing?

I'm pretty sure that his dislexia is the main reason he became so enamored with Scientology. Apparently using their techniques he was able to overcome much of his difficulties with it.

Say what you may about Scientology, but there is no doubt that is have provided benefit to some. This is a prime example of that

It was "interesting" in the same way you can't not look at a car wreck or an overweight European man in a speedo at the beach. It's just so stunning and ghastly and wrong that you're mesmerized or something. But then you're really REALLY sorry you looked.

I was listening to an interview with Christopher McQuarrie, the writer of "The Usual Suspects" and "Valkyrie." He was on location with Cruise through the entire production of "Valkyrie" and he spoke quite incredulously about the kinds of things that get said about Tom Cruise. He was reading reports of incidents that never happened during the making of the movie. I got the impression McQuarrie was pretty fearless about speaking his mind on the Hollywood system, so unless you think he's got a reason to lie, I totally buy the idea that plenty of made up crap about Tom Cruise gets written all the time.

  24. Why would she bother? It's not a rumor about her that puts her in an unflattering light or anything.

While I think Cruise is an extremely talented actor, I thought that the Oprah episode showed little class from him as a person. I just thought that it showed little caring or sensitivity to his ex (Nicole) and their two adopted kids to be acting so impetuously.
