Blue Oyster Cult ~ Agents of Fortune - in honor of the first (non-Beatles) album I'd ever bought

Santana ~ Abraxas - thought this would sound "great on cd," believing the original sales pitch of better sound quality (my vinyl was long lost anyway, lent out after one listen & never retrieved)

The Beatles ~ Rubber Soul - as soon as the first Beatles cds came out

It's been awhile but I believe they were Sgt. Pepper's, Legend, and an A&M Cat Stevens greatest hits.

    oh boy
So I received Aerosmith - The Other Side single with my player for Christmas of 1990 because it had them performing the Wayne's World theme on SNL :shh:

With my own money I then purchased on the same day at Wall to Wall Sound

Anthrax - I'm the man ep
RHCP - Taste The Pain single
Dead Milkmen - Smokin Banana Peels single
    Megadeth - Hangar 18 single

remember it like it was yesterday

I then joined Columbia House and all hell broke loose :D

, by Vox Dei. That was the first one I bought with my money in 1992 approximately.
I can't exactly remember the following two purchases, but I think one of them might have been my cherished copy of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality (Castle).

I didn't start buying CDs until around 1989.

The first three that I purchased when I bought my first CD player were:

    1. Sing It Again Rod
    2. Appetite for Destruction
    3. Purple Rain

I didn't buy CDs on a regular basis until the late 90s because in the early days they were rather expensive. I mainly owned vinyl and cassettes. I also didn't care about sound quality back then like I do now.

    I'd veture to say;
It's a close tie between "So" and U2's "The Joshua Tree" that really sent the CD 'on it's way' to being THE format of it's time!
