Actually, I think that the original RCA cd mastering of Share The Land is pretty darn good. That Iconoclassic is still cheap <won't be for long!>, I'd grab one now if I was you. I guess you have the 2 cd Track Record set from 1988. Like Myke and Luke said, the Anthology or Essential set is the one to have, no question.

 

Regarding the outtakes that you found: were they finished tracks or works-in-progress?
I'm disappointed to hear of this miss opportunity.

 

They were mostly earlier takes, but in some cases with different arrangements. Plus the first recordings of Laughing and Undun that Jack Richardson discarded. Some cool bits from the ill-fated second night of Paramount, funny covers, etc.. An extended 'Friends Of Mine'. Iconoclassic released most of the best stuff like 'Lost Sheep', which I think went on 'Rockin'.

Today was one of those days. Just found a nice used copy for $6 at Idea's Books and Music in Honolulu. Now all I need is a copy of Rockin' and I will have all of the Iconoclassics.

 

Wondering what impression this box has now, two yrs. down the road?

I'm looking for a copy of Canned Wheat. Re: the Buddha 2000 Bonus Track pressing being highly regarded ....

Of course, Iconoclassic doesn't apply (their exclusion is beyond me when you consider their list) but - Best sounding Canned Wheat now in 2018?
Price-wise only, the box might be OK to consider but to get all the superfluous albums just to get Canned Wheat......?

 

Yes, I would like the answer to this question too. I have looked at CD compilations but they all seem to have the single edits of the songs I like so I want to buy the studio albums as CDs instead. Some of them are hard to find.
