That would be a good example if those were the actual lyrics.

He's just singing Geezer's words there.

Now whoever screwed up "warned about you" as "born without you" from their cover of the Aynsley Dunbar song Warning on Paranoid -- that's lazy.

On Iced Earth's phenomenal Night Of The Stormrider LP, the serious (albeit fantastical) mood of the album is almost broken by the ridiculous lyrics of Reaching The End:

Now I see that I'm reaching the end
And the end of my quest is close at hand
    What have I done?
    I've reached the end

And as my life slowly fades away
There's not one single thing that I'd change
    What have I done
    I've reached the end

Profound, Jon. I can't believe they chose to recut this instead of Mystical End or The Path I Choose on Days Of Purgatory. It is a nice little breather between Pure Evil and Travel In Stygian, but still.

Absolutely. Sort of. It's actually closer to Tronna, rhyming exactly with wanna and Donna (at least it does in a Toronto accent). Personally, I thought the Kings nailed that lyric!

Special mention goes to Weezer's "Heart Songs", where Rivers thinks that Debbie Gibson sang 'I Think We're Alone Now'...

You know, Google could've helped there.

This one has always driven me crazy - in part because I cannot tell if it's some sort of odd joke...

But in "Town I Loved So Well" - most famously covered by the Dubliners I believe - there's a line "There was music there in the Derry air/like a language that we all could understand."

Now, come on, there's no way you can hear anything other than 'music there in the derriere" and then start giggling, especially when other lyrics in the song refer to "the gas that hangs on to every breeze."

Seems like a little effort put into rewording that line could have avoided the whole problem...

Why? They seem to nail the beatific simplicity of young new love. You have a better example?

Lazy lyrics? Just put on any pop station on the radio and there you go. I can write better songs on my bathroom break.
