Always nice to get (most) everyone else's take on the definition of "rocking," but I got a country song that out-rocks all y'all. :D

Yes! And they continued their winning streak with "Jail House Rock" and "All Shook Up" on their next album. I really wish JB would dig through the archives and release a live album from the first Jeff Beck Group.
I love those first two albums! They combined punk rock aggression with art rock flourishes (violin, keyboards and John Foxx's trangressive lyrics.) That exclamation point that was initially at the end of their name was rather apropos.

I'm not naming names, but a lot of people's definition of "most rocking" is miles away from my concept of it. Yet, differences are what make things interesting.

On top of that, there's technically something of a difference between "most rocking" and "heaviest". To me, "heavy" usually involves slow, lumbering, weighty riffs. "Rocking", on the other hand, is more energetic, punkish, and 'bare-chested', as it were.

It's like Sativa vs. Indica. (Can I say that on here?)

You can and you did ! :D

Agree with "heaviness" vs. "rocking". I like your criteria for both, too.

I deliberately stayed away from anything "metal" (by my definition) and went for more hard rock or punk inspired stuff.

I do not always like to rock out...but when I do, I prefer The Heartbreakers' L.A.M.F.

My tastes go more away from walls of fuzzbox guitars. For "rocking", the first couple that come to my mind are Radar Love and "Are You Gonna Be My Girl (or maybe the song it was ripped from). I may change my mind though once I remember some even-faster-tempo rocker songs.
