Anyone actually listen critically to the new 24/96 Whitesnake 1987? I know in the Super Deluxe thread someone posted the DR values, which were not encouraging...however no actual first hand reviews from what I could tell. I have the Super Deluxe on pre-order otherwise I would grab it.
Unfortunately, the lossless 7digital versions of R&H, Pop, ATYCLB, and SOI are just those album's original masters and not the new 2017 remastered editions that were release on iTunes. (See post #1294 in this thread)
New deluxe versions of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs first album Fever to Tell and George Michael's Listen Without Prejudice are MFiT.
I've listened to the MFiT version. The sound just isn't great, which is more a function of the mix than anything else. Coverdale's lyrics and John Sykes guitar are way out front, while the drums get lost and lack punch. But probably worst of all is the excessive reverb - like they recorded it in a tunnel. Very 80's.
Bought a guilty pleasure from my younger years. The atmospheric "The Big Blue" Soundtrack by Eric Serra is MFiT.
Tom Waits Anti label work is now MFiT in 2017 remastered form including: "Mule Variations" "Alice" "Blood Money" "Bad As Me" "Glitter and Doom (Live) "Orphans" and a remix of "Real Gone" are coming in MFiT at a later date. All of them getting new physical releases too (see thread here: Tom Waits Reissuing Anti Records Albums, incl. Orphans (2018) Other recent MFiT's worth a listen: Beck "Colors" and as noted by Artie Fufkin in his post above: George Michael "Listen Without Prejudice/MTV Unplugged (Deluxe" Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Fever To Tell (Deluxe Remastered)"
They should be there, just search for all Tom Waits and there's 2 versions of the albums. The new ones have (Remastered) and also 2017 year mentioned. Atleast here in Finland the 2017 MFiT-versions are available on iTunes and listenable on Apple Music. Just testing some of them..
I've recently been re-listening to Julia Holter's 2015 album "Have You in My Wilderness" and this year's "In The Same Room" both MFiT and both beautifully recorded and sounding good. Highly recommended listens, IMHO.
Like those. Holter is involved with four tracks on the new Linda Perhacs called I'm a Harmony. In case you are interested. It is not MFiT though
Sepultura’s “Chaos A.D.” and (classic) “Roots” are MFiT. Look for the “(Remastered)” versions. (The Expanded Editions are not MFiT.)
Dylan’s latest Bootleg Series entry Trouble No More is Mastered for iTunes. I believe this is the first time an entire Bootleg Series set has been MfiT.
Since U2 new album is out, the "old" MFiT album are at great prices! Bought a few, but since I don't know them all, any advice would help! (which one I should buy)
I'm a fan so biased. Would recommend all but save Boy, October, Rattle & Hum, No Line On The Horizon for last.
The MFiT versions of Rattle & Hum, Pop, ATYCLB, and SOI are actually new 2017 remasters, so $6 each is a fantastic price.
Not advertised in Sweden store but there are some Rolling Stones albums for about half price. Not sure what Santana albums normally are but many are about 30% general album price.
Well bought Rattle & Hum, I simply love All Along the watchtower.. But I can say they are cheap! Thanks for your recommendation!
Efff yeah! I simply hold out for some Rolling Stones albums and they are CHEAP! Thanks mate for info!! However - too bad Bridge To the Babylon still normal price though..
