Thumbs up. I skipped the anniversary box for the debut, but this I'd be into.

All I'd really like to hear is the CBGB's show. Saw them so many times in the late '70's - there was nothing like them live.

Is that live show the same one that is on the inexpensive Rhino single disc reissue CD?

Goddamn stupid packaging including an album in with the 3 CDs damn money grab!
They could release an LP separately for those who care!
    Ripoff.
Their best album and it the fans who want it have to be gouged like this! :realmad:

Forget the live album (and the vinyl) and just issue a 2 CD set for $20, dammit!!!!!!

These record companies aren't going to stop ripping off customers when there's enough that will buy these damn super expensive boxes.
And people complain about people not paying for music anymore - with BS robbery like this by the companies, why SHOULD anyone want to? Why should this behavior by them be supported?!?

I'm happy with the Rhino deluxe edition (compression and all), so pass.

Because they are greedy bastards but we (the fans) are buying every shred of music they put out and they know it.

Ironic. A band that started a revolution on the principle that less is more.

I'm not. Between the album reissues with bonus tracks, the anthologies, and a few posthumously-issued live albums, compilations and a couple of studio boots, I have everything they officially released while any of the original 4 were alive. That approach satisfies the completist in me and gets me off the Super Deluxe merry-go-round.

I love hearing these old live shows, but really it's all those alternate mixes that have me excited. Wish it was cheaper though, and yeah, have no use for the vinyl.

Out of curiosity I checked online to see if prices on the debut box have come down at all, and they're still $50+. Too much.

I agree. I could go for this since I already have a nice clean lp that even has Carbona Not Glue on it. My first Ramones purchase.

The first box set, I`m sure I picked it up for £30*, which was a very good price. If you keep a look out these things do drop in price.

*Edit: It was £20, Amazon Italy a bloody bargain.

This isn't exactly "a super expensive box", is it? But I agree that these cd/ vinyl hybrid boxes are a bit of a pain.

If I can find this for the same price as the first, I'm in!

I, too am not a fan of this 'supplementing a set with needless vinyl so we can up the price' trend, but I imagine this follows the packaging form at of the first one and includes some sort of book as well?

Still can't wrap my head around the first album mono mix but I like having it. Will like having this. Hope they do a box of every album up through Animal Boy - would love to hear a beefed up Pleasant Dreams and a normal sounding Subterranean Jungle - but I'd settle for box sets of the first four.

CD 1 is the album two versions, first remastered, then remixed.
CD 2 is third version of album Rough mixes and then assorted singles/alternate mixes.
CD 3 is a live set

I'd just be interested in hearing the CBGB gig, the rest is stuff I'd play once and file. These over stuffed sets are getting to be a drag.

I'd like to hear how this is remixed. Leave Home always had a more compressed sound to me when compared to the almost studio verite sound of the debut.
